Transfer Home Loan

Home Loan Transfer, or Home Refinancing, or Home Loan Balance Transfer is a strategic move to shift your loan balance to a new bank with better terms. This may include attractive interest rates, extended tenure, or improved repayment options.

Process of home loan transfer

When considering a home loan balance transfer, it is wise to start by shopping around and comparing interest rates, features, and costs from different lenders. If you find a better deal, discuss it with your current lender and see if they can offer more favourable terms to keep you as a customer.

Once you have decided, submit a request to your existing lender for a loan transfer, and they will issue a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) along with details of the remaining loan amount.

Collect important property documents from your current lender and initiate the transfer process with the new lender. Your new lender will settle the outstanding home loan amount with the old lender.

Advantages of home loan transfer

Home loan balance transfers offer significant advantages, primarily driven by the potential for a lower interest rate, reducing EMIs and overall loan costs. The flexibility of smaller EMIs or an extended tenor provides added financial flexibility.

Part-prepayment options facilitate interest savings, especially if the current lender restricts or imposes high charges.
